Kentfield, California Real Estate:
Fine Homes, Estates, Condos and more
Tom Verkozen knows the homes and estates of one of Marin County's finest addresses ... Kentfield, a town started by liquor magnate James Ross, and now home to 6351 people in 2565 households (2000 census). Median age 45 (vs California at 33.3), median family income $154,673. Part of the support of the schools comes from the centrally located Woodlands Market, where a percentage of sales goes to the foundation.
The number of distressed properties in Kentfield remains low ... of the 30 homes on the market as of 8/16/11 20% were in escrow and only four were distressed properties, two foreclosures and two short sales. In 2012, again a low inventory year, there were times with almost no inventory available. In April 2013 there was an uptick in the number of homes offered for sale.
Kentfield has a small commercial section, directly along Sir Francis Drake and Collge Avenues, but is primarily a 'census designated place' and depends upon the Marin County services (sheriff, fire, etc) yet it has a marvelous school system, begining at the elementary school (Basich) thru the middle school and onward in the Redwood School District. Kentfield is also home to the College of Marin. Indeed, it is the schools that give extra value to the real estate.
Great town to live in, superior weather, lots of open space access ... if you're interested, let's talk ... soon!
