Beyond the beauty of the land, the wealth of community resources and proximity to the whole of the San Francisco Bay Area, in Marin there are more than a dozen towns, a virtual community of communities.
Several Marin the towns have vital, alive downtowns, such as Fairfax, which is the most youthful, musical and alive night time communities. Other towns with great gathering spaces, what some call brick and mortar style hearts are Mill Valley, San Anselmo and Larkspur.
Marin County has a great variety of homes for sale, including luxury homes found mainly in Sausalito, Belvedere, Ross, Mill Valley and Tiburon, cottages and family compounds (found mainly in west Marin, which includes Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, Point Reyes, Marshall and Bolinas, to name most of the big small towns). Marin Multiple Listing Service gives us access to most of the home sales ... and the MLS includes almost all of the court approved sales ... probate sales, conservatorships and it also gives us information useful for exchanges (frequently called 1031 exchanges and sometimes, infrequently, includes reverse Starker exchanges).
Whether you plan to relocate to southern Marin (Belvedere, Tiburon, Mill Valley and Sausalito) or the core of Marin (San Rafael [where most of the Eichler homes are located], Ross, Larkspur, Corte Madera, San Anselmo and Fairfax) or west Marin (where there's lots of open space and recreation) I will help you search by using our MLS (multiple listing service) while also focusing on short sales, foreclosures, the listings in the Marin Independent Journal and the for sale by owner homes.
Lots, land and ranches ... because it is currently difficult to find financing for home construction, there are some wonderful opportunities to purchase land and/or acreage, found as infill in some of the established towns but most of which is found in west Marin ... Nicasio, Woodacre, Dogtown, Bolinas, Muir Beach, Dillon Beach, Marshall (my home there was called The Poet's Loft), Stinson Beach, Inverness (where I created the Bed and Breakfast, Dancing Coyote Beach), Point Reyes, Olema, and in the San Geronimo, Nicasio and Olema Valleys and some of the western towns like Woodacre, Forest Knolls and even, to some people's thought, Fairfax (which isn't all that far west).
The decision to buy or sell a home is intensely personal, sometimes terrifying and yet always exhilarating. As a result, it’s important to select an agent who not only understands the marketplace, but also takes the time to understand you and your needs. I provide my clients with unparalleled resources, service, professionalism, counsel and when it matters most … a shoulder to lean on.
Buying Process: When you decide to buy I will work with you to develop a personal property profile. What are you looking for? From price range to square footage, from the kitchen fixtures to the school district, all of us (you, your family and I) will know exactly what you want.
Tours & Showings: I am constantly in touch with other agents and touring new homes on the market and weighing their features against your property profile. If the right house hits the marketplace – I will know about it, see it and show it to you!
Email Notices: You will be immediately apprised of the latest listings with timely emails. Each property sent for your review will fit your personal property profile or will come with a note as to why I thought you should see the property.
Selling Process: In order for you to make the best decisions and get the highest and best price (which frequently means in the least amount of time) I will prepare a clear, concise evaluation of your property (called a market evaluation, not to be confused with an appraisal), suggestions of the work you might chose to have done (and resources to get the work done) and how that investment will impact on your sale. I will then keep you informed of properties that are either competing with your property or that may be coming on the market so that you will be competitive.
As in the buying process, you will receive timely emails on all market changes.
