Ross, CA Real Estate
Homes, Condos, Probates, Estates and Beauty
Ross is a small, incorporated town of 2329 people (2000 census) neighbored by San Anselmo, Kentfield and San Rafael. With a median age of 42 and a median family income of $102,593 one wouldn’t peg this town as wealthy … however the average sales price of homes sold in Ross during 2010 was over $3M.
Ross, with a quaint down town, is known for the beauty of the estates, access to open space and great schools. We just spent over $20M on the renovation of Ross School, the elementary school and Branson, a small private high school, has an endowment that assures that it will continue providing superb educational opportunities. Redwood High School, a California Distinguished School, is the public school.
Phoenix Lake, a popular walking lake, is also an easy access point for bikers and hikers who avail themselves of the beauty of the protected open space in the Marin Municipal Water District lands.
Although few people are aware of it, there have been bank foreclosures and short sales in Ross. Not a large number but the economy has impaced on this wonderful, green, educated and wealthy town. Currently there is one short sale home on the market in Ross. A good property that the owners love but can't afford.
